The four main products at a glance…
Both premium brands of HBS GmbH, atento and RUKU, comprise a wide range of products which complement each other in the best possible way. On 1 October 2017, the company decided to sell the total product range under the name RUKUevent, thereby only focusing on one brand name: RUKUevent.
Folding furniture
Our RUKU Klappmöbelmanufaktur, situated in the Bavarian city Illertissen, looks back on the experiences of the saw and gypsum mill, which was founded by Rudolf Kurz in 1852. The brand RUKU was named after him – as a combination of his first and last name. The mill gradually developed into a successful, family-run wood processing enterprise.

Later, the sector of folding tables and benches was spun off from the family business and we took over both the production of folding furniture and the brand in 2014. We adhere continuously to the quality standards established by Rudolf Kurz.
Business Unit - Folding Pavilion
The company HBS GmbH was spun off from Otmar Schmitt GmbH in 1993 – this was the time of birth for one of the most significant German enterprises in the tent and promotion sector. 25 years of experience, comprehensive know-how and a never-ending innovative spirit have flown into each and every atento canopy tent. Since 2014, atento and RUKU folding furniture have belonged together and will appear as a single brand, RUKUevent, from 2017.

Beer stands
After successfully establishing the beer tent sets at renowned breweries throughout Germany, the step to our next product line was not far away: the RUKUevent beer stands. Here, our experience in the production of beer tent fittings and canopy tents merge and complement each other to create a robust and individually tailored quality product.

Inflatables
For 25 years we have been dealing with the production of individual advertising media in the form of customisable canopy tents. Since 2018, we have been using this knowledge and the associated experience to produce a further, highly effective product line: The inflatable advertising media from RUKUevent! State-of-the-art 3D technologies enable an individual design of your air-filled unique advertising medium.

Sustainable climate policy
As a manufacturer, we have consciously made sustainable choices. We place particular emphasis on a sustainable climate policy and actively support the reforestation of valuable forests. The use of recyclable materials and ongoing process optimisation also contribute to reducing our waste.
Reforestation
Since 2019, we have been supporting an annual climate protection project. In the mountainous region of Harghita in Romania, an effort is being made to counteract unavoidable emissions through reforestation. Together with the Zetea Forest Cooperative, we planted 7,500 trees and reforested a total of 20% of the wood we have consumed in 2022.
